Podere Pradarolo - Vej Bianco Antico Metodo Classico Brut
A 100% Malvasia Spumante from podere Pradarolo, the estate of Alberto and Claudia Carretti in Emilia Romagna. The Carrettis make wine the old fashioned way, with long macerations and aging periods.
The 2013 Vej Metodo Classico is grown in the Parma hills on clay-like soil with a low limestone content, and undergoes a 60 day maceration before spending 24 months on the yeasts before being bottles without filtration or any additives. The wine is distinctly amber in colour, with typical flora Malvasia aromatics and a delicious, full body with pronounced tannins that stand up to most any dish. Serve cool, 14% Alcohol.
The 2004 Decennale is Vej 2004 (3 months of skin contact) with the addition of the must of 2014, 4 years on the yeasts degorged à la volé and pas dosé.
